How to Launch a Token on Pump.fun Without Getting Sniped

You create a token on pump.fun, hit buy with your dev wallet - and by the time your purchase lands, a bot has already bought ahead of you at a better price. It is one of the most common frustrations for Solana token creators, and it has a simple cause: creating a token and buying it are usually two separate transactions, and anything can land between them.
This guide explains why sniping happens and how creators avoid it.
Why snipers get in first
Sniper bots watch for new pump.fun tokens and buy the moment one appears. If your token creation and your own buy are separate transactions, there is a gap between them - sometimes a fraction of a second, sometimes a whole block. That gap is all a bot needs.
The result: you pay a higher price for your own token, the bot holds a chunk of the supply, and it can sell into the first real buyers.
The fix: create and buy in the same block
Solana validators running Jito accept bundles: a set of transactions executed together, in order, in the same block - or not at all. If the token creation and your buys are in one bundle, there is no gap. Nobody can buy between your creation and your own purchase, because both happen as one unit.
That "all or nothing" property is the important part. If something goes wrong, the whole bundle fails and nothing is spent on the buys. You never end up with a created token but no position.
Doing it with several wallets
Many creators split their initial buy across several wallets instead of one large dev buy. A Jito bundle holds a limited number of transactions, so tools pack several wallets' buys into each one.
SolBundle, for example, creates the pump.fun token and buys it from the dev wallet plus up to 8 more wallets in a single Jito bundle - all in the creation block. Larger launches (up to 100 bundle wallets and 200 snipe wallets) continue right after the launch block in follow-up bundles. The platform fee is 0.5% of each buy and sell, with no subscription.
A simple launch checklist
1. Prepare your wallets in advance. Create the dev wallet and any extra buyer wallets before launch day, and fund them. 2. Fund with a margin. Besides the buy itself, the dev wallet pays for token creation and the Jito tip. For a first launch with a 0.1 SOL dev buy, plan around 0.15 SOL in total. 3. Check every balance before you send. A single underfunded wallet can make the whole bundle fail. Good launch tools check balances before anything is sent. 4. Have your metadata ready. Name, ticker, image and links - pump.fun stores them at creation and you can't edit them later. 5. Decide your exit plan. Know how and when you'll sell before you launch, not after.
What bundling doesn't do
Bundling protects your own entry. It doesn't create demand, and it doesn't hide anything: bundled buys are visible on-chain, and many traders run bundle checkers before buying. Holding a reasonable share and being open about it builds more trust than trying to look like organic demand.
The bottom line
Sniping isn't bad luck - it is the predictable result of creating and buying in separate transactions. Put them in one bundle, fund your wallets properly, and your launch starts with your own position secured at the first price on the curve.
